Prior to their service trip, our participants will undergo online training sessions with the Wubuntu team and meet their service camp leaders to learn about the serving community,  including service details, community needs, and things to prepare prior to their departure.

our community services

Wubuntu sets up service base inside different poverty-affected areas such as Langa and Heideveld. To drive social change and development together with our reliable community partners by curating youth engagement opportunities.

Community Feeding

Food and nutrition affect the long-term wellbeing of our communities and our children. Although being a basic human right, hundreds of people living inside poverty-affected areas are forced to skip meals or eat the same meal for more than one day.

Our community feeding programmes reaches out to different poverty-affected communities in Cape Town, South Africa. To serve the community fultilling their basic nutrition needs, our volunteers will help with preparation, making and distribution of food.
A typical day of feeding service starts with working in the community kitchen to help prepare the raw food freshly delivered from local markets, our volunteers will help chopping vegetables and cooking them in a large oven, then to packing the cooked food into lunch boxes ready to be delivered to the service site.

School visit/ renovation

Gansterism and violence inside many poverty-affected areas had serious impact to students' learning environment inside those township schools. Children attending schools inside township have very little engagement and opportunity to learn about the outside world.
Our school service programmes enable volunteers to go deeply into many local schools and get in touch with children. Serving educational needs of intercultural engagements and activities, to provide school children the opportunity to engage with people from 'outside world'. To empower township children through supporting school teaching and activities.
